N - N = 2

What do you call the "N"? I know the answer is called sum. I know in multiplication, it is:

Factor X Factor = product
And in division:

Dividend divided into Divisor = Quotient

And in addition:

Addend + Addend = sum

So what is the "Addend" "Factor" or "Dividend/Divisor" in subtraction?

My father was testing me and I forgot. I'm five years old. Please!!

Ten points for best answer!!

The traditional names for the parts of the formula

c − b = a

are minuend (c) − subtrahend (b) = difference (a).

the addend/factor/dividend/divisor is just the numbers of the problem that you are using and minipulating to come out with your answer...for example...2+4=6....2 and 4 are you addends.

In mathematics the above expression is not valid because the substraction of two same quantity never be zero.
However in computer science the above expression you can write as N = N +2

It means the value stored at the address of N is replaced by the sum of the value stored at N and 2

As far as terminology is concerned
minued - subtrahend = difference

i hope it will help

the N is a variable...by the way that question is n-n=2 is impossible...as all letters in an equation need to be the same! for example 2n+n=6
in this example n=2.....2(2)+2=6
