Even with two perfectly healthy and fertile people actively trying (sex at least once a day during the fertile period) to conceive, there is only a 20% chance of pregnancy per cycle.

As both potential parents get older, the percentages can drop, and there is a greater chance of fertility problems from either partner.

Most OB/GYNs and fertility doctors don't even want to talk to you until it's been at least a year, because of that. Unless you are almost 35 or older, there generally isn't a rush to start getting tests done.

If you haven't conceived after a year, BOTH of you should be tested. Sometimes either the male or female will be found to have a MINOR deficiency which explains why it is taking so long, that doesn't imply they are a failure.

There is no shame in being infertile. It happens. If you are both adults, you can get through it.

You need to have sex when you are ovulating to get pregnant. If you don't know when you are ovulating check out http://www.tcoyf.com or http://www.4women.gov/tools to learn about ovulation.

Most doctors don't consider a couple infertile till they have been trying for at least a year with out conception. At the year mark, they will most likely want to check your hormones, thyroid function and a whole battery of other things. Your husband can also be checked out.

Good luck

No, in fact doctors will tell you to take a break and allow the sperm to "build up". You've only been trying for 6 months. Not much a doctor will do but tell you to come back when you've been trying for more than a year.

Practice makes perfect!

But if it's been 6 months go see the Doc.

Sometimes it may take a while. We tried for 5 months 'till I got pregnant. But you do not have to do it everyday. I actually read and heard you should have sex every other day (or night)

no you don't need to have sex every night. Actually it is better to do it every other night ( if it's a low sperm count that will help build it up instead of every night) but I think maybe going to the Dr would be a good idea. GOOD LUCK

take him to a doctor if you have been having sex for 6 months and still cant conceive then there might be a problem with his sperm count or maybe something else since there is nothing wrong with you because you already have a kid.

You only need to have sex once to have a baby. Why not go to the Doctor's? It's your best bet! Good luck!
