i am almost 36wks and have been worried lately that my baby will be born with some big problem at birth....like an ear in the wrong spot, or an abnormal growth, or extra toes! I know I will love my baby no matter what I just wonder if it is normal to go through this feeling....normal to be worried??

I think all first time moms think that at one time or someone will ask what would you do if? Relax I am sure that everything will be fine. Now days they have so many test you would know if something was not right. Good Luck!

Yes! i think every woman having a baby worries though some may not fess up. Lol I gave each of my babes three heads, six arms, one leg, @ sixty toes #@fingers( not to mention the mixed up facial parts). I think it's because we're so in love with them already we can't bare to think something might go wrong. Your baby will be fine I'm sure. You'll also do a toe count and check him/her out right after birth. Enjoy and congrats. PS I've three healthy kids and eight grandkids. Worried about them too. Speak to you Mom or other expected Moms , you'll see all have the same worry.

I feel that way too. I'm 21 weeks along, but have to take Lexapro which is not recommended during pregnancy but if you have to take it, it is the best one. I cannot function w/out it. I constantly worry about birth defects. If you have done everything right, your baby has a 96-98% of no birth defects. My doc said mine is 94-96%, so I suppose it is normal to worry about such things.

I think every new mom worries about those kinds of things. She wants the best and only the best for her baby and it is scary to know what kinds of things can happen before and during birth and I think it is normal to be a little worried, but don't let it destroy you to the point you get sick and/or can't take care of your baby.

Calm down; this is an irrational fear (normal~~ but no one told me to calm down and stop the silly thoughts). My three boys are all healthy and normal (and all grown up). The scariest thing that happened to me was a woman I met kept insisting I was carrying a girl because of the shape of my tummy. The ultrasound was inconclusive about the sex and to my total surprise HE was a HE!
So I told the other lady to take a long walk off a short pier!

It's called pre-natal anxiety and yes, it is perfectly normal. Every new mom I've ever known has felt this way at some point during the last few weeks of pregnancy. Just try to relax. I know it isn't easy, but the anxiety will probably diminish as you get closer to the date and start nesting behavior.

yes its always to worry about your baby thats the whole part of being a mom you get the motherely instincts during your pregnancy. I never made it to my 36 weeks, i had 2 kids my first was born at 28 weeks thats the worst time to be worried especialy since i didn't hear him cry, i was worrid. my secod was born at 34 weeks and i was worrid because i passed out giving birth to him. those are things to worry about. but the rate your at you'll be fine its normal to worry.!!!

it's more than normal, most and would say all parents have that happen to them and most of the time everything is fine with their baby, just try not to worry to much because then you will stress and that will be bad for your baby so don't stress about it and enjoy the last few..long.. weeks of your pregnancy...well as much as you possibly can.. ;) I'm sure that your baby will be just fine and very very cute!!

Yeah, of course! A lot of women are scared something will go wrong. Don't worry, it is very unlikely for anything like this to occur, even though I know you'll still worry.
