The reality is that when most Americans think of terrorists, they think of Muslims. However, I think the show went to far by having Kal Penn play an innocent Muslim neighbor who turns out to actually be a terrorist. The white neighbor defends him, only to pay for it with his life. It's almost like the show is saying it's OK to taunt and harass your Muslim neighbor because odds are, he/she is a terrorist.

And by the way, Kal Penn needs to stop being the evil guy (Superman, 24) and go back to comedy (Harold and Kumor, Van Wilder). It's hard for me to watch him in these "evil" roles.

The show does portray Muslims as being terrorists, but they are just being realistic. The 9/11 attacks were done by Muslims, and if the show wants to stay true to life, they have to use Muslims.

My Muslim friend loves 24, and he is not offended that they use Muslims as the main terrorists.

They do not always portray Muslims as bad guys. In season 2 the character Reza was suspected of being a terrorist, but he ended up being one of the good guys (until he got shot by his fiance).

And I agree with you about Kal Penn. I was waiting to see when he would stop holding that family hostage and take them to White Castle.

It's called being topical. Sorry, but most of the terrorism going on in the world is being perpetrated by Muslims. We're not saying all Muslims are terrorists, or that even a sizable minority are.

Besides, they haven't only had Muslim terrorists. Season 5 had Russian separatist terrorists, Season 3 had Mexican drug dealers, Season 1 had Yugoslavs, etc.

I'm sure if the Danish were blowing crap up, they'd be good candidates for future villians. (Of course, we'd all then be covered with cherries and cream cheese.)

Muslims aren't the only bad guys on 24. Look at season 1.

kumar is a terrorist! hahahahaha!

but for real..i love 24, but have thought about this in the past and again with this new season. I loved last season where the president was evil...so i think they use equal opportunity terrorists.

Yeah, it is. I mean, really. It's like they always pick on the Muslims. Of course, last season, one of the bad guys was white(the president).
Anyways, I really do like this show, even if it is a little cruel.

I agree it's a little harsh, but they're the only group whos extreme elements are currently blowing themselves up to kill us and vowing to destroy us.......it's stupid to pretend otherwise, eh? Level headed people will know it's just a show, and fools will be swayed by anything one way or another.

All Muslims are not terrorists.
However, it seems all terrorists are Muslims.
