Global warming has little to do with Plate tectonics. Plate tectonics involve the movement of the Earth's crust over Magma (like bubbles over water). The movement of magma is affected by the rotation of the Earth's core and by gravitational forces from the Sun, moon and other planetary bodies.
Global warming which many people blame on human interaction with their environment is occurring. Historical temperature readings have been reliably recorded by man for only a blink of the eye in geological terms.
Geological study has shown that the Earth has been much warmer than now without human interaction on the modern scale. The rock records also show that the temperature of the Earth also fluctuates repeatedly over millions of years with short periods of very high temperatures and very low temperatures.

A sensible reason would be that the thermal expansion of the Earth's crust is hardly measurable on the scale of a couple of degrees Celcius, yet the extra amount of energy that is in the atmosphere at higher temperatures is huge. Hence earthquakes will continue happily as they have done for a long time, and the climate will shift, as we can see.

NO! Why would that happen? Global warming and lava (I think that's what you're referring to because lava and slipped plates are what causes earthquakes) are TOTALLY different things. Pollution has no effect on earthquakes. THe crust WILL NOT expand becuase global warming.

The crust isnt heating up, surface temperatures are heating up and the temperature of the atmosphere is rising.

Global warming is not heating up the world enough to melt the boundaries of the tectonic plates. It does however have enough power to destroy life though.
