No. A "normal" pregnancy lasts from 32 to 42 weeks...the baby will be born when the baby is ready to be born.

I know waiting is hard, I've been there. However, it's best to let nature run its course. Every day your baby stays inside is beneficial even though it seems like it's been long enough. My baby was born at 38 weeks, which is considered full term. However, he needed to be hospitalized to treat jaundice with very high levels of bellarubine(sp?). I still wonder if that would have happened if I made it to 40 weeks. But to answer your question, I walked the night before. I think that got things moving for me. Also, please don't drink anything. Stay strong. You're almost there.

Why would you want to risk the baby's health? The baby will come when it is ready to come.
You should consider being pregnant a blessing. So many woman are unable to experience what you are going through. I am sure they would give their right arm to do it too.
Just try to enjoy the time you have left. Once that child is born, it goes by way to fast. Before you know it, you won't remember what it feels like to be pregnant.

Have sex with your husband! Worked every time for me. Also you can massage the area between your thumb and first finger to start labor, or massage the inner ankle (just above where the ankle bone sticks out) and that will do it too. But hey, you have 3 weeks to go...I know it seems like forever, but every day that baby is "on the inside" s/he is growing stronger and healthier, so don't rush it. Take a walk, see a movie, read a book, watch TV...you won't be doing these things very much pretty soon so enjoy it while you can!

walking did it for me with my first pregnancy. I walked every afternoon to the point that I felt my legs would fall off. it was definitely uncomfortable but I only walked for a week and then she came early...well at 37 wks! I am almost 36 weeks with my second and have already started walking everyday, hoping for the same result! we shall see! good Luck and congrats on the upcoming delivery!

walk and do your kegals, the day before I delivered, my family members kept rubbing my belly from under breast all the way to the bottom of my belly. Not hurting me, just rubbing. But I was a day away. You are still 3 weeks due. The baby will come when it wants, but prepare your cervix to stretch, so its less painful, and by doing kegals and walking, it will help.

I've heard Castor oil. Sex can soften the cervix. Walking. I've heard it and tried most of it and it didn't work. Well until I threatened the medical staff @ 40 and 3 days. Then they decided I was too unstable and induced me immediately. I feel your pain and understand what your going through, I hope you have you bundle of joy soon.

Why would you want to? Unless there is a medical reason to hasten on delivery, which your OB would determine, don't even think about it.
The baby will come on its own time, or the doctor will help if there are medical reasons. Don't play with nature. It doesn't like that.
