I love it. (goth for 7 years and damn proud) I've never been happier. I've gained so much self-esteem and I'm CONSTANTLY getting complements from people! The way I dress makes me feel beautiful and elegant. I love being able to express myself through my clothing, make-up, art and way of thinking. I wouldn't change it for the world ^_^. Just thought you should get some input from the goth side of the deal hahaha. Yes I'm hyper shh.

In my day i was goth... but then i realized that all the freaky people were incredible stupid at my school (just them, not all goths). They would never stick up for themselves when picked on. Me? I'd kick some a s s in my combat boots! Hehe.. But then I evolved, as we all do, and if i had to be labeled at all it would be more hippy like. Crazy turn of events, huh?

I think they are just trying to express themselves. Im an artist, but at the time i didnt know it. I relied on my clothing to stand apart from the crowd. Then you grow up and realize that in general, people are ALL different and unique, yet they all pretty much have the same things in common.

They want to be happy! And if acting depressed and wearing black makes them happy then why not.

personally, I don't like the look myself. I think it is very extreme and harsh.

I recall an old saying about goths, that it gives ugly people a chance to get some attention.

Is there still some interests in the goth look? I thought that was out dated 15 years ago.

Throughout the years there have been groups of people that have dressed differently, worn their hair differently, had different outlook on life in general and stood out among the masses. The flappers and guys who wore zoot suits in the 20's the hippies in the 70's. the goths now but like the other phases, this too shall pass. It is not unusual for young adults to try to stand out, to make their mark, to try to change the world. The problem i have with goths is no respect for other people, at the least the ones I have come in contact with. Every other group of people that I have come in contact with respect others. The goths like the shock value, they lok e to look scary or creepy, and that is their choice but they need to have respect for other people and property. They need to follow the rules like everyone else, they are not above the law but a great majority of them think they are - at least in our city. I chalk it up to a sign of immaturity, or not being taught well at home..... this too shall pass.

well i dont want to be mean becuase everyone has their own opions but when most poeple i know see goths they are scared and grossed out. i mean why do you have to dress in all black to prove a point. and im not telling you to just follow the crowd and dress like everyone else but seriously paler than a normal being and dark hair make up clothing. its a total turn off to most guys

goths are just people ussually.... but, they ussually have some anger issues or something, but not all. theres this one named alex at my school, and i mean, to him, its just a fashion.... hes a really cool guy. and i have a gothic outfit too... for me, its just a way to dress. i dont think there is anything bad about it, and in almost any cases, you shouldnt ever be afraid of them, lol. cause, i know there were people that looked at me funny and stuff when i had my chains on out in public, and i mean, it was just funny and gave me a kick.... thats prolly why a lot of them do it, ya know? but, i think gothic pants are really really comfy... they really roomy!!!! ^_^ and band shirts that you would wear with it are good with jeans and stuff too.... you just gotta like some sort of rock atleast a little bit. ^_^ but, i think gothic is just a style of clothing, and there are two kinds of goths.... the wierd ones and the normal ones. even if they have piercings and stuff they can still be normal. (i have no piercings tho). but yeh, i think goth is ok as long as you dont acctually act like it.... the clothing is cool.

esspecially when you get a girl that looks good with gothic stuff on... my gf isnt goth AT ALL.... and its kind of sad... because, like with black eyeshadow and stuff, and dark clothing, she just naturally looks really HOT!!! lol, its sort of funny.

btw, if goths seem depressed, its not cause they are gothic... thats emo..... technically anyway... emos are the ones that wanna cut their own wrists.... goths are stereotypically just more angry, and want everything in general to die, lol. thats the stereo type tho, so yeh...... depressed = emo ^_^. HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS!!! LOL

but, then, on the same note, anyone can be depressed, ya know?

I feel that Goths are using the way they look as a means of self expression. I don't think thats real bad as long as it doesn't harm anyone else.

i think there cool!there just expressing themselves,nothing bad,most of the goths i know are pretty cool and nice.i don't know why people think there creepy and evil,in a way everyone is.im sort of a goth myself...or punk,im not sure.all i know is the only people who drives me nuts is those skank-asss preppys...i wish i could kill them all

I like them... They rock my stripped black and hot pink knee socks... lol... Yeah they can come off as harsh or creepy possibly even scary but it just a differant way of dreesing and wearing makeup and maybe a differant still of music... but beyond all that they are just normal people... I have friends from all different cliques... I have freinds who a goths, emos, preppies, rednecks, wiggers, black, white, asian, latino, male, female, straight gay, bisexual, People all in all are just people... I try to atleast give everyone a shot....

its not that much differnt from anyone else... everyone dresses differnt im goth and people are always trying to say well that chick is creey but im not that much differnt then anyone else
