You can see that the differences in development between an infant and a six year old are huge, right? You can see that the differences in development between an 80 year old and an 85 year old are miniscule, right?
There's no cut and dry answer to your question, without the ages.
It matters very much when you're in love, because when a teenaged girl dates a boy much older, sex will come into her life, because he is sexual, he is more powerful emotionally then she is, and she will give up the sex to keep him (and to express her love blah blah blah....) Now, likely the boy at this stage is not looking to be connected to someone, he's looking to have fun and have sex. The girl, when she has sex, will become very strongly connected, even when it becomes clear that the guy is taking a different path in life than she wanted to take and has really nothing to offer her.
Because of that, it is very stupid of a teen girl to date a boy four or five years older than she is. He is on a totally different page than she is.
Besides, If he wants a little girl, then that is a red flag that he is messed up developmentally and doesn't want to take on the challenge of a girl his age, that he wants a girl he can dominate and control. It's a red flag that there's not much going on in his intellect, because he shouldn't want to hang and chat with a teeny bopper.

that really depends on how old u r and he is...if u r under 16 and he is 18 or older than t is against the law...now this range of age changes from state to state or country to country...but if u are in the teen section im gonna guess u r young....if this is an older man just remember most guys at this age just want sex...i on the other had am 27 and my ex it 31, but i am also a grown woman and u r still a child...not in the term little child, but u r young and at this time in your life age does matter. U have lots of time to fall in love and u will probably meet many guys before u do, dont rush things, take your time and concentrate on school and family life...i hope this helps

I am 19 and my boyfriend is 23. We met when I was 18. I don't see anything wrong with it, since we are both adults anyway and at our age, its not that huge of a difference anymore. I would say don't worry about it and just go for it! Besides, older guys are always more mature and ready to commit then younger guys.

I dated a guy who was four years older then me when I was 17 and it turned out fine. He was actually really respectful, honest, and easy to talk to. He was great but all guys are different! I went away for college and if I was upset or something was wrong I would call him because he went through the same stuff before I did so I asked him for advice! I would for sure do it again!

You have to be a least 18 or he could get into a lot of trouble. But I don't see anything wrong with it unless you are 6 and he is 11 then there is something wrong but if the two of you are both mature adults what is the big deal

I really agree on what you said about years doesnt matter if you love someone but, I think if you mind and your heart is telling to follow your true love than i think thats what you should do. Also be careful just make sure your making the right decision because i dont want you to be heart broken after a couple of years later.

It matters to the police. If your under 18 and hes over 18 it is against the law to have sex with him but if you are 16 or 17 it is fine to date him.

I know someone who married a man almost 20 years older than her so I don't think that 4 or 5 years is to big a problem unless your really young.

My husband is 29 and im 21. The 8 year difference between us has never been a problem. As long as your 18 (so its not illegal) I
do not see the problem with it. Good luck!
