Actually, in Europe, we don't think of gay people when we talk about metrosexuals. We just say they like to take care of their clothes, of their skin as well usually, and maybe pluck their eyebrows or things like that.
But, you can do that and still be masculine, as long as you don't overdo that.
As for being kinder, that's not metrosexual, actually. That's different. Those are guys who are not afraid of showing their feelings as they are confident.!

From what I heard it means a straight man that is very into his appearance, skin, body, weight, what he eats and etc... someone like P.diddy, he's always being label as a metrosexual, he gets manicures, pedicures, massages, facials etc,
