I may move into a building that was formerly a nursing home (approximately 50 years ago) and would love to find out information on this building, maybe some of the staff and patients..just generalities.... anyone have any idea of how I would go about doing it.....

I don't know where you are from, but you could try some sort of public records building. Local council, or - if it were a nursing home the local health authorities may (although it is rather unlikely... still have some records on it)

Parish records (of deaths, sorry a bit morbid, but it may record them...).

Not much help but hope you find something.
