Easy to answer. Disney World is in Florida, Disneyland is in California. While Disneyland is the original park that Walt himself oversaw the construction of, his vision is realized at Walt Disney World in Florida.
WDW in Florida is way bigger, with 4 parks, 3 water parks, and way more to do. WDW is a city all by itself with it's own zip code and transportation system. The service is second to none. Disneyland has 2 parks and a couple of resorts. WDW has many more, about a dozen or so. Trust me, once you go to WDW down in Florida, nothing else compares.

Disneyland contains 2 parks, Disneyland and California adventures. Disney international contains 4 substantial parks, The Magic Kingdom, Disney Studios, Epcot and The Animal Kingdom plus the water parks Downtown Disney and enjoyment Island. Disneyland has 3 inns and Disney international has a dozen. There are diverse rides at each park. etc.

Disneyworld has multiple parks..much bigger..takes probably a couple of days to get through it all..located in orlando, florida
disneyland is one big park with many of the same rides as disneyworld that are the most popular. its located in anaheim, california
ive never been to disneyworld, but im a season passholder to disneyland..disneyland is nice because its not toooo big..and feels more old fashion disney-ish in my opinion..plus california adventure is right next door!
i would go to disneyland if you're going with smaller kids

Disney World consists of 4 parks compared with Disney Land's 2. Obviously, to compare the parks would be like comparing apples to oranges, but Disneyland is more compact and certain rides are in the same park, where in DW they are in different ones. For example, DL has both Star Tours and Space Mountain in one park, while in DW, Space Mountain is in the Magic Kingdom while Star Tours is in the MGM studios.
Also, if you compare the "same" ride from the two parks, Disneyland has the better rides. Pirates of the Caribbean is better at Disneyland than at Disney World, and so is the Tower of Terror.
Disneyland is in Anahiem, California, just south of Los Angeles. Disney World is in Orlando, Florida.

Disney World is bigger, it has four parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom; Two water parks ; Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon; Golf courses, and Downtown Disney. It has lots of resorts that you could stay at. It is in Buena Vista, FL and in my opinion it is much better than Disneyland. It even has a bundle of secret activities that you can do, like driving a race car, parasailing, and much more.
Disneyland is much smaller, even a smaller castle. It has two parks: California Adventure, and Disneyland; and it has a Downtown Disney as well. It has a small amount of 3 resorts. As far as I know, there are no Disney secrets in this tiny park in Anaheim, CA.

Well just think of it this way! which is bigger DisneyLAND or DisneyWORLD....? Disney World is obviously bigger! I have been to both and for DW you need probably like a week to see the whole thing you have water parks, safari rides....sooo many things to do and see! hope my q' helped!

Don't explode! I've been to both. Disneyland is much smaller, but you can do it in a day. I like California too. Florida is soooo hot. Both DL and DW have nearby Universal Studios. They are cool, but I really liked the California one because real stars are on the sets.

Disney world is way bigger then Disneyland. Face it, they planned for expansion there.
There are multiple parks, water parks, much more variety for the different age groups.
Disneyland - California
Disneyworld - Florida.
