or will the diaper-clad tyrant continue his deluded micro-management of a game he no longer even understands?

Al Davis is never going to change...He will be who he is until the day he dies.

He is in the same class as Jerry Jones...They are who they are...They think because they were smart enough to accumulate wealth that they should be able to run an NFL football team too.

The Cowboys still win because so many of the people who were there before Jones came in...Just like Al Davis, over the years the established personnel who were there before the new owner took over, began to die or retire...The new owner (who had now been there for 10-15 years) had to come up with someone to replace them...He didn't do a very good job of replacing old management with new management and the team slowly declined.

Here's hoping that Jerry Jones does for the Cowboys, what Al did for the Raiders.

Sure, for a year maybe, then once people start praising the coach, Davis will get jealous like he did with Gruden and ship him out. Davis never really accepted that he's not the head coach anymore - he tends to act as though the head coaches he hires were only filling in for him temporarily.

That being said, the older he gets, the less he can do. And the organization will only take so many losses before they'll start to go Matt Millen on him.

Hopefully he'll promote Rex Ryan, and they'll have similar success to the last time Davis promoted a defensive assistant coach - a guy named Madden.
