Brett should become a player/coach and allow the Packers to groom a new QB for the future.

He would be loved even more in Green Bay if he did that...How unselfish that would be.

The Pack could trade up in the draft and get Russell or Quinn if Brett would go to the team and tell them to do that.

With Russell, they'd be back in the Super Bowl in 2-3 years!

GEAUX LSU!

Being a huge Packers fan, this is my opinion--when he did the interview at the last game of the season, he was crying. Grown men don't cry unless that decision has been made. He was also supposed to have ankle surgery the very next day, and he did not. Which then tells me that he will take his time taking care of his ankle, opted not to have the surgery (because of his dependency that he had once upon a time on pain killers) and call it a career. If he was adamant about returning, the surgery would of been done, and there would be some sort of specualtion, or rumours running rampant. He has broken many records, and will always be known as one of the greatest. He will not get traded. He will continue with a career in the Packer organization, and remain humble to them. No ankle surgery, means no comeback. He will be the gentleman and announce his retirement after the Superbowl. I don't think he wants to take the focus off the teams fighting for the Lombardi trophy, and wait till the year is done.

#4--Brett Favre (p.s. I bet the falcons are mad that they traded him to the packers!)

As I sit here reading all of these answers, I am amazed at all the DUMB people who think Favre had ankle surgery! If you are a true Packer fan, you know that he opted NOT to have the surgery. Why? Because in my opinion, he is retiring. Tout fini! If he was serious about coming back, he would of had it New Year's Day, but didn't. Did you see his interview after the Bears game? He was blubbering like a baby. This all leads me to believe that he is retiring. He holds many records, 3 time MVP, most starts, passing yards, etc..the list can go on...He will not get traded. He will stay in the orgainization in some shape or form.

As for Rodgers being named the starter....NO FRIGGIN WAY!!! Rodgers has clearly volcalized that he is not ready to fill those shoes. He needs some more time before he gets in there as their QB. They will draft another, or they will sign a vet. But Rodgers will not be the starter.

All you people who think you know....you don't. Why don't you let the fans answer the questions--THERE HAS BEEN NO ANKLE SURGERY!!! If ya don't believe me, you can look on the Packers website or read it on ESPN. Some of you are not so bright!!!!

I think he should come back he has more reason to come back this year then last year he can still play at a high level the team was a very young team last season this season he will have a offensive line that has finally gelled. The Packers need to address the TE position, and Safety spot. For those of you who claim to be Packer fans and are saying he needs to retire before he embarrasses himself need to pull your head out of the sand, the Packer have a solid chance of going into the playoffs next year and Brett is the only QB in Green Bay that can bring them there, and second it's safe to say Brett isn't your Average 37 year old QB you don't see him hobbling around he is still very quick in the pocket at avoiding the hits and still has rocket arm, I would like to see him at least one more year.

Personally, I would say he should call it a career. What does he have to prove anymore after playing 16 seasons in the NFL? He's a three-time NFL MVP, went to two Super Bowls with the Packers, winning one & losing one, & is among NFL Quarterbacks with 237 consecutive starts (257 including playoffs), & is tied for second with Dan Marino with 147 victories as a starting QB, John Elway is first with 148. What's he got to gain? Does he really need another season to play for the Packers to break another record in the NFL? I should say that he should consider the possibility that age is creeping up in him & that his endurance to play is begining to slow. I think for his own best & for his family & the team he's been with since 1992, it's time for him to hang it up for good. He doesn't have to prove anything to the public that he can still play, but, if he wants to return for another season, so be it! I would say this to Brett Favre, you done well, but, it's time for you to step out of the spotlight & ride into the sunset! Let someone else gain their fame for the game.

The Packers have pretty much named Aaron Rodgers the new starter for next year.

I seriously don't Brett being any ones backup and Packer fans would not be able to deal with him wearing another uniform.

Add that with the fact he just had surgery and it's time to hang up the cleats and head to Canton.

It's lately become the annual question.

It would certainly be strange to not see #4 leading the Green and Gold. I remember seeing him come in in his first game when the Polish Rifle went down--a bunch of us (Packer Fans) were sitting in a bar and going, "Oh Great, here's that 3rd string QB, Favor, we got from crummy Atlanta that we gave up wayyyyyy too high of a draft pick for...." HA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway--the flagship station of the Packers (WTMJ in Milwaukee) has a daily 6:55 a.m. segment called "The Tractor Watch" (which they started last year...what will Favre decide whilst he rides his tractor back in Kiln...)

This year they've added "Titletown Held Hostage -- Day (however many it's been since the last game)"...

Turn up your speakers and check out yesterdays "American Idol" version of their report at the link below....

(p.s. the first song is a hoot -- although NOT the views of yours truly, it's clever and funny...)

he's apparantly expressed a severe interest in coming lower back, yet to not eco-friendly Bay. the priority is, eco-friendly Bay has reported that if Brett does come again that's going to likely be to the eco-friendly Bay Packers. That reported, i don't think of he's gonna come again.

I hope he retires. I have had enough of the Brett Favre worship when he is pretty much ordinary now.

It depends on how much money the Packers offer him.
