Specifically, I have a Dell notebook and want to know either when it was manufactured, when it was first turned on, or anything close.

On the bottom of the system (or, for Latitude LM systems, under the plastic cover on the rear of the system) there is a service tag number. Something like A123456.

Go to Dell Support, type it in, and they will tell you what they made and when they made it. How long it sat in the box is another question.

My Computer\properties will indicate the processor and build- but to track down the specifics of manufacturing, you will need to cross-reference that particular model best found as a serial number or part number on the actual notebook case.

Good luck

Check your sales receipt or e-mail Dell with the serial #.
The only info you will get is manufacture date.

You know, if you told me what model Dell notebook, I probably could find out. Or, you could just go to dell.com and use their tech support.

That's a hard one to answer. Cause different components of the machine could be different ages. Why do you want to know?
