How do you remove the protective lens cover from a recessed light fixture?

Pull it down, it well stop after about 3 inches, then unclip the clips in there by squeezing them together.

If it's a solid lens cover, you rotate it a quarter turn to the left and it will come out

If it's flouresent it should lift up and you should be able to tilt it out.
If it's just a can light most just pull straight out.
