Oh man I REALLY need help here!?

Okay so I have this project where i am suppose to find the answer to these questions

1. what makes our personality the way it is?
2. Why do our hands naturally cup

I CAN NOT find the answer to either of these and I am freaking out! Please if you know a link, or have any info on it that may help me I would be SOOOOOO thankful!

1) Standard industry response to that is described by the following:

Personality = (Inborn genetic traits) X (Environmental influences, like family)

2) We hominids specialize in grasping things, like rocks and stuff, because we are TOOL users. In fact, most animals that need to grip things, like hawks, have "naturally cupped hands", even though I wouldn't say that talons are "hands", but you get the idea.
