Pretty much what the question states. What's the best way to get a particular restaurant to open a branch in your city, given local demand for it?

Thanks for the responses, I already knew what franchises are, and how franchise ownership works. I don't personally know someone with the capital AND time to open a franchise, so I was more looking for anyone who's gone through a Chamber of Commerce, or directly to a restaurant company.

Many chains are franchises, which means they are privately owned and not by the "company or chain."

A franchisee (owner) has to buy a branch of the chain and open it, so you'd have to convince a person with starting capital (money) to contact the company about opening one.

Most chain restaurants are franchises. That means that it is an authorization to sell a company's goods or services in a particular place. Or it is a business established or operated under an authorization to sell or distribute a company's goods or services in a particular area.

What this means in regard to your question is that John Smith in your city could buy a franchise of McDonald's Hamburgers. John would put up the money to build the McDonald's and pay McDonald's Corporation to use their name. He would buy his supplies from McDonald's Corporate Headquarters and pay them a fee to continue using the McDonald's name. So, actually it is not McDonald's opening a restaurant in your area. It is John Smith. 10 different McDonald's restaurants in your city might have 10 different owners...all with franchise agreements with the McDonald's Corporation.

Confusing, huh? The best way to get a restaurant open would be to ask someone you know to buy a franchise to a particular restaurant and open one! By the way...buying a franchise is expensive so ask someone rich.

Contact the corporate office. It would also depend on wither it is franchised or not. If it were than the company would have to wait for an entrepreneur to come along and either ask for the rights to open a location there or possibly suggest to that entrepreneur that a certain location might be worth while.
