My PSP version is 2.60, my friend said your PSP must be at version 1.50 or 1.00 so that you could download games, but do you know how to make it down, Sony make a new version, it's 3.03, are they don't want us to download games?

What 3.03 is a version that allows you to play games from them that you can download. I have a PS3 and a PSP and I can download 6 games from them right for $6 a piece. Which really isn't that bad at all.

What your friend is talking about is downloading illegal games that people have ripped off from a actually game. You can download these games and take and place them on your memory stick and play them just like a normal game. You friend is right in that sense. There is programs out there that can downgrade your PSP's firmware but I can't tell you about it. I don't know how to do it, or have I tried. But if you mess with the firmware and screw something up. You're S.O.L and your PSP is garbage. Do you want to thake that chance?

If I was you I would update to the newest firmware and download the games from Sony. Heck they are only $6 apiece so you can't go wrong with that. But remember they are PS1 games now.

There is no known way to go back to a lower version. The same thing happened to me.
