I think it is all relative in today's times. Parts across the board are more expensive these days. We used to blame import parts as being expensive because all of that stuff was coming from overseas but that is not as much the case anymore. The more of a higher line of car that you have the more expensive you should expect your parts to cost. For example Parts for a Cadillac STS will be more expensive than parts for a Chevrolet Impala, both cars are GM but the higher line of cars will cause you to pay more. You can find a lot of domestic parts now that cost just as much as import parts. The key to finding inexpensive parts for imports is to find imports built in the US. I hope that this helps. Good luck.

Let's see ... Honda has a lot of their parts made in communist China, Toyota is in Indonesia & China, I think. Hyundai/Kia have a huge parts plant in communist North Korea, where they pay their workers like $ 20 A WEEK. And, that 42% doesn't include Canada, which is a large parts producer. So, if you wish to support the communist North Korean government or the communist Chinese government, you know what you can do. Also, I have nothing against the actual people of North Korea, just the government, but Hyundai is THE LARGEST source of dollars for them - It keeps the government afloat. Then, in true communist style, they spend those $$$ on weapons & expensive lifestyles for the leaders while their people starve. That's why I buy American....

Usually, but if you buy the right import you won't be replacing nearly as many parts as you will on an American car.

Quality costs money.
