Other people have asked this and had answers, but the answers picked "best" were both different.

For example, could Clinton run for Vice President since he's had two elected terms? If the Pres. died, would he move up to the President's position, or would someone else have to? Or could he even run as Vice?

When you answer, please add a link or something showing where you got your answer, not just from your head. And please don't add political partisanship. Clinton was just an example. Thanks.

There's nothing in the Constitution or any relevant amendment barring a President from becoming VP of the next administration. The 22nd amendment only covers the elections of presidents, not presidential succession lines, so it does not apply in the event of the hypothetical VP Clinton under a dead President.

One of the requirements to be VP is that you are 'eligible to become the president', so no, a former 2 term prez could not become VP as he does not meet eligibility requirements to become Prez if needed. Just like a foreign born US national could not run for VP as they are not eligible to become Prez. They can run for any other office or be in the cabinet and they are skipped over in the succession line for the Prez. there is no provision for 'skipping over the VP.

prez. clinton could run at any other office other than prez. ( including v.p. the law or amendment says nothing about not running for vice prez . i'm sure nobody thought it would happen)-----in fact in alabama gov . geo c. wallace served 4 terms( the guy that ended up in a wheel chair from being shot ) afterward had his wife run for gov. & she won---& i'm quite sure he managed behind the scenes & everybody knew when she ran that he was really gonna run everything.......
