It seems obvious to me that Iran is gearing up for war. A war that will be fought in our back yard against Iranian/South American alliances. Am I alone is this observation?

I was refering to Venezuela's Chavez and Nicaragua's Ortega and perhaps one other I read about in the news. I was not concerned about an invaision but a new breeding ground for terrorists much closer to home. I just feel these nut cases need to be taken out.

What may seem obvious to you is lost on most others. Iran has no military capability to fight a war against the U.S., let alone an invasion, they simply do not have the manpower, resources or military might. Iran has a nut job at the helm and nut cases are always seeking out other nutcases in case they need them later, no different than the U.S. using Iraq as an ally when Iran was the threat in the 80's. Threats make for odd bedfellows. Try not to lose any sleep over Iran, the U.S. has bigger problems to work on, Israel can take care of Iran by themselves.

No, you're not the only one that think that this alliance is a threat, but because there are lots of people in your country that are paranoiac. I can't imagine Chávez training terrorists, only because he's a socialist retarted it doesn't make him a killer or a islamic terrorist. Besides his inflamate rethoric Chávez has done nothing against the US so far, he has nationalized some companies in Venezuela, some of them from the US, but that concerns Venezuela. Much the contrary the US has openly supported a failed coup against him in 2002.

Iran and Venezuela are allies because both fear the US, cause both fear the US invade them someday. As you can see the paranoia works on both sides.

Which South American countries are likely to ally themselves with the Muslim theocracy in Iran?

Communists and Muslims seem like very strange bedfellows to me.
