Unfortunately, yes. Humans are narrow-minded and petty, and never agree. I don't know who will start it, but you can bet the U.S. will become involved in some way. The U.S. government thinks it has been assigned the title of World Cop.

Some think WWIII has already started with the war in Iraq involving so many nations. Others think WWIII was the Cold War and think the war on terror is WWIV! However, most believe WWIII is yet to happen, and it is very possible.
The time frame, however, is a bit harder to judge. Personally, I think that WWIII will occur in the next 200 years and will involve China. North Korea and Iran simply don't have the resources to mount a serious attack against us. If you remember, the US wouldn't have gotten involved in WWII if it hadn't been for Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.
China is the only country that has the means and motive to start World War III. Yes, China depends on America for much of its economy, but soon it will be self sufficient, and it won't need to listen to America about things like human rights and nuclear arms limitations. When this happens, the relationship between the countries will sour, and one country would involve the military in the dispute. From there, escalation would eventually bring the skirmish to a war involving many of the world's countries. The type of war that would occur is the hardest thing to predict.
Albert Einstein once said "I don't know what weapons World War III will be fought with, but I know World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones". The possibility of a nuclear war is low simply because of the collateral damage. Launching nukes is simply asking for nukes to be launched against them. It may be a ground based battle, but much of it will occur in the air. We haven't fought a conventional war in 60 years, and technology has advanced so much that I can't really say what a war with definite enemy borders would be like today or 100 years from now. It would be a dark time, in any right, and I hope it never comes.
