What's a reliable, relatively cheap external hard drive?

Preferably one you've used, or at least read good reviews about. Size doesn't matter, as long as it's 80gb or bigger...

I haven't heard of any major problems with external drives but I would stick with Western Digital or Seagate just because they are actual manufacturers of hard drives. I suspect that some external drive companies just build the enclosure.

It should cost you about $1 per gigabyte.
