List any jobs you had prior to becoming a stay at home mom. List skills you have, such as typing, phones, etc. You may have to start at entry level, but you should be able to move up rapidly. Keep the first job at least 3-6 months to show job stability and perhaps you could get a good recommendation from your boss. Keep doing the same thing until you gain a position your happy with. Continuing Education may be expensive and time consuming, but 1-2 classes a semester would be great for you... it would get you away from the kids for a while, further your education and show self motivation on applications. Good luck.

What are your qualifications? If a high school graduate, then you already know you will be making minimum wage. If Congress kicks it to $ 7.15 , you still won't be able to make a go of it. I would look for work in retail; at least you might be able to get some benefits . How close are you to your family? Can they help you out until you can get that degree? Be honest, state that you have been a stay at home mom. Although, I don't think this will give you much leverage. But honesty still has a place in this society. Good luck... and cheers to you for getting out of a lousy marriage. That takes courage !!!

just because you don't have the work experience doesn't mean that you can't do the job...list all the qualities of yourself that you think would make you good at the job you are applying for. Personality is a big thing too. You can always learn. If they say you don't have training ask if they will give you some, because you are more than willing to learn.

Seeing as though you have access to a computer, then I can assume you have some computer skills, i.e. typing, Outlook Express, Word, Excel, etc. You're a woman, you should have PHONE skills as we all do! LOL! Put those skills and try something sort of office job, administrative, secretarial kind of stuff.

Good Luck!

Don't count out school. My sister raised two children and got a degree. and yes it was very hard. But if you ask her she would not have done it differently. Except maybe change some of the courses.
