tetrafluoroethane is a molecule. it won't be found on the periodic table. no atomic number no symbol, none of that...

note the spelling? fluoro not flouro. that may be some of your troubles...

look HERE....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetrafluoroethane
you will find molecular weight etc

note that it's also called R-134a. R134a is refrigerant used in air conditioners as a replacement for freon. That's a very very important use for tetrafluoroethane

look up r134a and freon as well....

Tetrafllouroethane is a compound, not an element, so it doesn't have an atomic number, valence number, electron orbit, and family. (Only individual elements have those).

Tetrafluoroethane is composed of two carbon atoms, 2 hydrogen atoms, and 4 fluorine atoms. These atoms can be arranged in two different ways giving two constitutional isomers:

1,1,1, 2- tetrafluoroethane
1, 1, 2, 2-tetrafluoroethane

Look it up on chemfinder.

The Merck Handbook, available at any library. Your chemistry teacher should also have one.

For what it's worth, tetraflouroethane doesn't have an atomic number or family. It's a compound, not an element.
