I've just updated to Service Pack 2 for my Windows XP. I noticed that it has a lot of buggy security feature, like Windows Firewall, Windows Anti-spyware, Windows Security Center. How do I remove or disable them? (I don't use my computer to visit any bad/strange site, so I actually don't need these feature)

Thanks all

First, let me make it very, very clear, that every Windows computer needs a firewall and a virus scanner. It's just that simple. There's an old saying in the computer world that the only computer that is totally safe from viruses and hackers is one that has no access to any other computers, the Internet, a keyboard, mouse, or power source, and is not turned on. As hackers become more skillful at using techniques like DNS spoofing, there will come a day when even typing in http://www.yahoo.com/ will not be a 100% guarantee that that's where you'll end up. Also, while I cannot comment on the Windows Virus Scanner, I will put forward that, while not having many features, the Windows Firewall is stable enough, and Security Center can be downright useful, especially since it has the ability to monitor more powerful, third-party firewall and virus scanner products. I upgraded to SP2 the week it came out and have never had any problems with the included security features.

Now, that all being said, if you absolutely, 100%, MUST have them disabled, such options are available fairly readily in the Control Panel, but as I say, I highly do not recommend it.

u do need a firewall
unless u have a router..that should block most everything
with out a firewall u are prone to attacks no matter where u go
they are not " buggy" features..they are to protect ur internet safety...maybe u are 1 of a few who think u are not able to be infected....we will see u soon on yahoo answer....asking ..
how do i remove such and such...or my pc has been hacked and taken over...it is suggested u have atleast
1 firewall
1 antivirus
antiviruses do not detect most SPYWARE
it is recommended u use atleast 1 spyware program
i wont recommend none as i dont think u are interested 4 real
btw.....sp2 does not install windows antispy
it doesinstall windows firewall and security centrer
if....for some strange reason they do add windows defender in the sp2 download...they just started with in the last 48 hrs
the only real program that is downloaded and installed is ...ie7
