The most dangerous effect of the industrial revolution is that people are taken out of the equation. By people I mean military troops fighting in a war at that time, and the civilians living where the fighting is taking place. Industrial revolution 's most tempting appeal is the money that can be made on both sides of the fence. Huge corporations making billions if not trillions off of our so called need for their military services. Whether it is armmament (which we have enough of to melt the world 50 times over), or laundry, now a days every little job is outsourced to a willing co. However, when there is no war or fighting going on, and everything comes to a hault, so does the funding, and so does the money for all of not only the big businesses, but the congressmen who continue to fight for and support these businesses in their own home states. And why? Because these companies making billions off of the American people can be very generous when it comes to election funding and so on. This is a vicious circle happening today as we talk inside our houses. It's an unforgiving circle happening today as our troops fight in the middle, and die along with civillians in the middle of all these people just trying to squeeze that extra dollar out of us. President Eisenhower seen this coming and warned the world in his farewell speech. From that point on, every president since has put us in unnecessary conflicts. Perhaps some businesses were taking notes.
