Why is Ahmed Chalabi still involved in the Iraqi government?

I read an article today saying that he was serving on a committee there. Chalabi's party lost every race it ran in during the Iraq elections, the Iraqis don't want him. Why is he serving there? He only makes us look less credible.

How many bad career criminals/politicians do we have serving here in the U.S.? Sometimes no matter how bad you want to, your net just isn't big enough to get the turd out of the pool.
