Your first job is to be sure he's physically protected. At school, that's the school's responsibility, and they tend to wimp out in that role. Hold their feet to the fire. Second, your son needs self confidence. Any sports that he's good at? a class in martial arts might help, too, not just so he can whip someone's butt, but most kids who know how to defend themselves never have to. If the school condones this bullying, then yes, change schools. Bullies are everywhere, but not every school tolerates them.

Bullies never pick on anyone their own size. You can use the phrase " there is safety in numbers". Violence is never really the answer, a good defence is the best offence.
Try these (PS: they go in succession):
1. Telling your son to go to the school or peer councillor and talk about his problem.
2. Going to Karate and Tae Kwan Do classes to learn discipline an self defence.
3. Making good friends who can either protect him or help him in the situation.

Under no circumstance should he be allowed to resort to bringing weapons as a means of defence.

kids can be cruel these days. i would talk to your child about his emotions and feelings. honestly if hed rather move to a different school... then you should. take it in consideration. if a kid is not happy there, why should you keep him there.
i say this only because it can affect him as he grows older, socially, personally, etc.
however, if ure son thinks he can deal with it. he should stay. its really up to ure child. id give it a week to sort things out with him before making the final approach and switching schools.
good luck. and best wishes!!

Changing schools wont solve anything. There are bullies at every school. He has to learn to stand up to bullies, Try karate for selfconfidence .He needs to be taught be more emotionally assertive.Schools do not tolerate bullies.Get him to confide in the school counsellor.

I had the same problem with my son. He most likely has low self esteem and bullies can sense this. Get him into Karate this works great and he can defend himself if he has to.
