Derek Jeter is money. He is a great defensive player, hits for average, has decent power, drives in runs even while hitting at the top of the order, is a great leader, a great baserunner, and better yet there is nobody I would rather have at bat in the clutch.
Notwithstanding the aforementioned, he has performed all of the above year after year on a consistent basis and show no signs of letting up any time soon.

It says a lot than even Red Sox fans respect Derek Jeter. Great clutch performer, great leader of his team and a captain of the most storied franchise in world sport.
Extremely good speaker, on the career path that could well end up in Cooperstown and is dating a stunningly attractive woman.
Derek Jeter is the Tom Brady of the baseball world, a winner, a clutch performer and a leader, I imagine the life of a one Mr Derek Jeter is a pretty good one to lead.

What is there to say? He's a future hall of famer. The captain of the great professional sports franchise in the world. Great player and great team leader. If I had to start a franchise from the very beginning I'd pick Derek Jeter over everyone else on the list. And on top of it all he's a really good guy!!

well you might have to exempt yanks and red sox fans and maybe some AL east fans too because they might be biased. i am a nl guy and i honestly think he is a tad overrated and i dont think he deserves all the gold gloves he has. he isnt even the best SS on his own team arod is. he doesnt really do well in the playoffs he is just the benefactor of having great teammates.

Good hitter especially in the clutch, excellent fielder, smart baserunner, apparently a team leader.

My personal experience is that when he and the Yankees play games away from NYC/Yankee Stadium he is an arrogant, conceited, SOB! I think that he is a great player - he just needs to be more professional in how he treats ALL fans. Fans do give him an excellent way to make a living, and pay his salary.
