I am assuming we are talking about a right cone. The formula is
V = 1/3 pi r^2 h

V = 1/3 * pi * (8)^2 * (16)
V = 1071.79 ft^3

V = (1/3)*h* pi*d^2/4
= (1/3)(16)(3.14)(16^2/4) = 1, 071.79 ft^3

area of a cone = (pi*r^2*h)/3
