No, not this year. They have a few good young starting pitchers, but in the rest of the rotation and in the bullpen, they are a mess. They just traded away their closer, and I don't think anyone is ready to step up and take his place. I think that that trade was bad for both teams. The Pirates gave away a great young closer for a first baseman and the Braves got a set-up man. The Braves now have no first or second baseman, so their defense is going to get hurt because they are gong to have two inexperienced players on the field. The offense is hurt because they lost LaRoche, who was a major staple in the offense. Overall though, I think that won Pittsburgh out.

All right!! They got LaRoche. Now they'll get about thirty-two runs next season!
All kidding aside, a player like LaRoche will only have a minimal impact on the squad. He's good, but not good enough to elevate every other player on the team to playoff level. The Pirates have plenty of holes left to fill.

i'm a Pirate fan although that is in basic terms too early to say who will be interior the submit -season although that is positive to make certain Pittsburgh get off to this 2-0 start up. i believe they are going to be a more effective perfect team than very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days yet for submit season i believe they seem to be a three hundred and sixty 5 days or 2 away earlier they are going to project for the international sequence. They nonetheless want a touch more effective develop with a number of their gamers and then i believe they are going to be a contender.

No-one thinks that.
Adam LaRoche is not exactly who you'd call a Franchise player. Nice 1B but not anything special, Pittsburgh need a lot more if they are going to make a serious run at the postseason.

k man my dads a Pittsburgh native so i like em but thats like saying greenland is going to become the most dominate country because they have a new president. anyway every time pirates get a good player he only lasts 2-3 years and they cant afford him any more. money has 2 much to do with sports. :(

Of course! There is no doubt they will win the World Series, especially if they decide to use Adam LaRouche as their ace starting pitcher, middle reliever, and closer as well as their star hitter.

I don't think the Pirates will win anytime soon. They still have a long way to go. They could start with acquiring better pitchers.

Yeah, one player doesn't make that much of a diffrence, he may help them win a few extra games and, maybe even a wild-card contender, but a World Series, that's a "no".

The Pirates are a lot more than just one hitter away from even making the playoffs. This helps them, but they still aren't close.
