I'm actually putting together a proposal for financing such a program.

One of my suppositions is that pedophiles are repeat offenders. The idea is to surveil the worst of these that have been released from prison and catch them when (I don't believe in "if" with these people) they are about to offend again.

Sounds fine, except! They already are monitored somewhat by having to report to the police where they live!

What you envision sounds Unconstitutional on it's face! I think it would not be legal to follow someone who has done his/her time to be harassed for the rest of their life!

Real pedophiles, those that are fixated, belong in jail forever. If not, they will re offend! The main reason is that their main sexual attraction is to children! Therapy is no answer! Changing a pedophiles sexual preference would be as hard as changing yours. It just isn't going to happen, though Regressive therapy does work somewhat, but it is too expensive and few people do it!

Most sexual offenders are known to the children, with most being related! We are talking 80%!

not really... your just asking for trouble doing that, if people are willing to watch someone else 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year... they must be willing to do 'more' to stop these paedophiles.... in doing this to help the community.. you'll probably end up having to arrest half the community

Would you really want to be employed in a job where you have to be around one of these slime balls 40 hours a week? Not a job I'd take on no matter how well the pay would be.

Would be a damn good idea! You have probably noticed when asking questions on yahoo, it automatically categorises; why is it not possible when some perv types a search on a search engine relating to this subject, gets automatically flagged and a message sent to an authority toarrest him/her??

How about parents just taking responsibility for their kids 24 hrs per day instead, like they should be?

Nope. The US Constitution won't allow it. Even convicts are entitled to privacy in prison.
