I much prefer dogs but can cope with other people's cats.
You wanted to know the breed of dog / or cat preferred. I have always had dogs from the shelter or Lost Dog's Home as I would much prefer to save a stray to give it another chance at life.
These 'Heinz' varieties tend to have less inherited problems than the 'pure breeds' . I'm sure any dog can be the loyal devoted companion if cared for properly.

I love both. Cat's are easier to take care of, but a Dog can go for a walk or run with you. I've tried walking my cat.... he's not in the least interested, he prefers if the dog goes for the walk.

i prefer cats other then dogs because cats can take care of themselves.and you dont have to give cat's a bath because they lick themselves clean. Trust me i have 2 cats and 1 dog. dogs are good pets too. but if you want a starter pet cats are much better then dogs. i hope this info helps you out a little.

Have you seen the a dog bark and chase a cat ?
and have you seen the cat run as fast ?
the poor scaredy cat don't know where to hide.
they say avoid a black cat ,,
and for the black cat . . .avoid the dog. . or else . . .

It all depends. Cats are easier to take care of and pretty independent, but usually not very social. Dogs are a lot of work, but they make great companions. I couldn't choose, so I have both!

I vote dogs. Dogs are always happy to see you and they are more people orinented. They are loyal and want to please. Dogs will protect you. Poodles are my choice. Cats could care less about you. I don't like cats to rub up aganist my leg. Very annoying. Also I am allergic to cats.

I think I prefer Dogs more...I like cats but I'm allergic to them so I cant have them.
