For me it was a new range. The one that came with the house had only two burners that worked. When I got the new one, and was able to cook on it for the first time; our house felt like a home.

there are no "objects" that make a house a home. that comes from the family or person living in the home. such as the memories of the children that grew up there, the fights and make-ups of the couple that lives there, or all the nights that are spent alone curled up with a good movie and a pint of ice cream.

Well I always said LOVE makes a house a home...
But you asked for an object:
Hmmmm, I guess I would say a porch or a front door makes a house a home because that is where you, your family & friends enter.

A person.
With a family - definitely.
With (a) pet(s) - almost definitely.
Otherwise - a bed, so the 'house' is really where "you lay your head" = home.

It is your most prized possession. Depends on the person. It's the thing that makes you feel good when you look at it.
