Usually it is located in the radiator however at one time gm used the temp unit on top of the engine which ran to the computer which in turn the computer would turn the fan on and off. Go on line with auto zone and purchase their tech support for your car. Its a great way to find anything you want or need. They offer the same info as your repair shop can.
