I mean of course they are your life partner, but seeing as you have chosen to spend your life with that person, do you think they are somewhat also your friend?

Yes, i think of him as a friend, but not the same as my girlfriends. We don't talk about the same things, he doesn't care about clothes or hair or nails, or even some of my hobbies he has no interest in. I may just mention "honey i'm going to run a 5k race next month" but i'm not going to go into every detail like i will with the friend i'm going to run with.

Yes, My husband is my best friend. And I don't mean in the way a lot of married couples categorize it.He isn't my best friend because he is my husband. He was my best friend before we were ever a couple. We still do a lot of things together has friend not just husband and wife.We go to nascar races and I help him work on our cars.I share in his interests. We talk to each other and confide in each other more like friends than spouses. We are able to put our friendship first and our feelings has a couple second. If I have beef with him I call him on it.And he does the same with me.

NO, my wife is more dear to me than a best friend could ever be. Some say their spouse is thir best friend, but I dont see that way. My spouse and I do act like friends but our bond is far greater. I dont consider a friend that close to me . Friends adre are friend and spouses are spouses. The relationship in my perspective is far different.

My wife definately my friend, as a matter of fact best friend. We discuss everything with each other, the good, the bad, fantasies, hopes, plans. Why would you marry someone that wasnt a dear friend?

My husband is my best friend before and after we got married. Even if I didn't marry him I would have spent the rest of my life with him-maybe not as much!

You used the phrase "somewhat" also as your friend....

I consider my husband my true best friend because we are a team and we are a very great team together

We were 'best friends' FIRST, and I was actually 'jealous' of the woman he'd fall in love with, because she'd take his friendship away from me. When we got together, I laughed myself silly, because I'd been jealous of myself. My husband is not 'somewhat also my friend' ... after ten years of marriage, he's still my BEST FRIEND.

My husband is my closest friend. I talk to him about everything. I ask his advice when I'm confused about people or issues. Talking things through with him, bouncing things off him helps me to decide what I should do. He holds me when I'm sad or upset and makes me laugh. When I'm angry with others or disappointed in him, he listens patiently to my rant. When we talk things over he is never unkind. He is patient with my every mood. Sounds like a best friend, doesn't it?

If you want a happy relationship your spouse better be your best friend. I wouldn't have even thought about marrying my husband if he hadn't also been a friend.
