What should you do when you have a friend you've known for a long time, that you've taken in and trusted and they know that all you ask is to discuss things with you, but then they plot behind your back to do things they know you would not want them to do but couldn't stop them from doing and they know that's how you would react. Then they lie to your face, and expect you to believe them like you're dumb.
It really hurts that this person would do this.

Tell this person you know what he/she is trying to do but you want to know why. If this person's friendship is valuable to you then give them a chance to explain or apologize. Depending on the answer you receive, decide if you need to kick this person to the curb or continue your friendship.

I know it hurts. I think we've all had to deal with that pain. If you have to send this person packing, know this: a new "better" friend is just around the corner.
