okay everything seems to be working fine music files play photos work on slide show and video plays but not getting any sound
any suggestions?

o wow ive heard this problem many times. in fact someone asked me about it this morning. Try those sights for help. There might be a problem with the program videora which converts videos to ipods.. Whatever the problem hope this helps.. Good Luck.

Yes did u not buy the videos of itunes. if u did buy it off itunes then ur ipod is defected bring call apple at 1800 My Apple cuz its still under warranty. If u didn't buy it off itunes then heres ur problem. Apple disabled the abilty of u hearing sound on videos from a non itunes places. so u have to get around it. Go to www.wondershare.com and dowload the software it will convert it to ipod format and it will play sound. I had the same problem with my ipod. Also it will auto send ti to ur ipod so u dont have to trasnfer it to itunes and all that stuff.

Were'd you get the video from? I hope itunes. Is the headphone jack completly plugged in? Volume turned up? TV out mode off? Mabye try resetting it by pressing menu and center button[you dont lose anything] Thats all i can think of.

try using pq dvd to ipod converter . get the trial version and convert a music video and try it. if it was not converted properly it should have been done now. neways check the volume and also if u have inserted the headphones in the socket completely . if nothin works just take it back.
