You can't be serious. Songs have meaning at different points in our lives. For me, strong songs are associated with periods of my life. Ultimately, the meaning songs have for you is to lift your mood, or change your mood; and, remind you that you are not alone.

You want some suggestions of songs that have had meaning for me recently?

Nightswimming by REM
Your Misfortune by Mike Doughty
In the Devil's Territory by Sufjan Stevens
Ashes of American Flags by WILCO
Time for Heroes by Libertines
In My Place by Coldplay
Last Days of Disco by Yo La Tengo
Biomusicology by Ted Leo and the Pharmacists

Now, some of those tunes have meaning for me for very weird personal reasons. Ultimately, you discover these songs accidentally and they attach to you. Then, they attach to periods in your life, and when you hear them the flood of memories from that forgotten time returns.
