Have you ever been disappointed by your ultrasound results...please explain...

I had my 15 week ultrasound today. I was so disappointed!!! The baby was uncooperative....moving all around...which was great but it was hard for them to get real good readings. Couldn't tell the sex yet. Wouldn't get in the position for a facial profile. I have to wait another 5 weeks for the next ultrasound!!! Has this happened to you? ( By the way, everything looked perfect )...that's the good news :)

I wasn't just disappointed not being able to tell the sex...I was disappointed because a lot of the readings...like the neck and spinal cord were hard to read....which helps me know if the baby is healthy or not...so to all the rude answers...it isn't a shallow question...if you would have read it right.

Do you mean when you find out the sex of the baby? Or, just a general ultrasound. I was disappointed today at my ultrasound when we couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl...but I have the major one scheduled in a month.

Yes. I am pregnant with my third child and have had five ultrasounds done and still don't definitely know the sex. They also haven't been able to get a profile of the baby and until the last one they were unable to rule out the birth defects that they normally look for. Right now we think it is a girl and are hoping that everything is healthy because we don't have definite results.

yes i have been disapointed by my ultrasound my first one was at 15 weeks and the only thing the lady told me was im only have one baby and everything looks fine then she spent the rest of the ultrasound on the phone which was very rude!!! and they didnt even give me any photo's of my baby ;( i am now nearly 20 weeks so hopefully the next ultrasound will be better!! Good luck and Congrats!!! it is difficult to deal with an ultrasound gone not so good hopefully your next one will be better try not to think about having your next ultrasound too much it just makes the wait much longer.!!

My baby wouldn't uncross it's legs so we weren't able to determine the sex, which I felt was important because I was having trouble bonding with the idea of having a baby. The ultrasound technician even had me get up an jump around to get the baby to move... but no luck.

We have a girl!!

15 weeks is really early to be looking at alot of those things. Most ultra sounds that are done to determine measurements, defects or sex are done more like 18-20 weeks. Try not to be too stressed or worried, the one you have done in 5 weeks will be so much better. 5 weeks is a good amount of time for the baby to grow and develop and you will see alot more at that point even that you will be able to pick out.

Good luck!

That seems a bit shallow to me. My wife had an ultrasound and all we cared about was whether they could find any problems or not. Luckily nothing was wrong and that is all we cared about.

Edit: I apologize. I thought you were complaining because you did not get a good picture to hang on the wall.

15 weeks is really too early to accurately tell the gender. 20+ weeks would be more accurate.

Nope no disappointment here...All I wanted to know what the health...sex and "profile" could wait until she was born.

yes my son did the same thing. he had his legs closed and his hands over his boy part. when i finally found out at 27 weeks it was because he was preoccupied with the hiccups
