Tristen & Isolde are not lesbian lovers, and it's a boy in love with a girl. The name sounds great! I believe my sister in law is going to name her baby that name if the child is a boy. Who cares about everyone else. Everyone doesn't like my daughter's name (Aurora), but it's my daughter, not theirs. He won't be picked on, I have never met a girl named tristen.

I have a friend who named his son Tristen and his son doesn't get teased at all. It doesn't sound like a girl's name. I don't know any girls named Tristen- maybe Kristen, but not Tristen.

Tristan is a great name, especially since I named my son that :). I haven't had anybody dislike the name before we even named him. Actually my husband made the suggestion of naming him Tristan and yes it was based on the character from Legends of the Fall.

My husband didn't go for that one either. He'd rather his name be BOB before tristen. I kept telling him...Brad pitt Ledgens of the falls...Tristen...come on. He wasn't having it. We settled for Christopher. Men don't like these out there names.

Tristan is a great name! Would you consider using an "a" instead of an "e"? Tristan is a man; Isolde is his woman. In my opinion, as a teacher, your son will not be picked on for his name alone. Best of luck!

i named my son tristan, and my daughter has a boy named tristan in her class, hes one of the most popular ones there. Teasing has a lot more to do than just a name, and no matter what your name is you could get teased. Name your child what you want to name him, not what everyone else says you should name him.

I really like the name. It is masculine, but I would spell it the traditional way. It's also from one of my favorite Arthurian legends, oh, and Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall. Can't really go wrong there.

i like the name tristan for a boy but with an "a" instead of an "e". my thought, though is that its YOUR baby and you are the one that is going to have to be saying it for the rest of your life so if you like it then go for it! besides, brad pitt in "legends of the fall" was FAR from girly! :)

I don't think of a girl at all. I think of Brad Pitt's character in Legends of the Fall!
