It's the same cast of characters, Lindsay, Britney, Paris, Tom and Katie, Brad and Angelina. I mean its not as if these are the most fascinating people on earth. Some do have some star quality, but why not just give them as much press as say Simon Cowell or Jay Leno, for example? This Paris Hilton thing has been perpetuated for it seems like years now. I can understand a 15 minutes of fame type thing for her, but its like the media fixates on certain individuals. Aren't there thousands of people out there more interesting than Paris Hilton?

You're totally correct, but it's because they're the most famous, nobody cares what they've done that's good or interesting and reporters just want people to buy an article on a "popular person". they all keep doing things to insure column inches.
I'd rather read about someone who had done something good for the country/ world than someone who had got divorced, developed a fascination with an obscure religion or had a famous sex tape!

You realize, therefore, how the public can very well make or break them. It's all up to us. So in a way we, John and Jane Q. Public are responsible. C'est la vie . . .

you're right! they do tend to focus on these main people that you have mentioned, but believe it or not, these ppl are the most hated and most loved...so with the two groups combined, it makes them "popular in the public's eye" whether we are tired of them or not..and i know personally with lindsey lohan..i get sooo sick of hearing about all the negative hype surrounding her, but after i hear new news about her, im like dagggg she did what?!? and she then becomes interesting to me again...but it does get to the point sometimes where im like geez...are these the only celebrities still around? has someone killed of the others? cause all i hear about is the same ppl ova and ova again! but i fully agree with you!

I'm with you. You would think the writers would get as tired of
it as we are. The redundant stories are beginning to drive me
away from all entertainment shows.
