Yes you can, but you have to initially be aware that they may not be telling the truth. Dont be gullible, unlike meeting someone in person they can actually pretend they are someone they are not! Take time to get to know somone, the longer you know them and the more you find out about them, the harder it is for them to keep telling you the truth, so you can therefore trip up the ones that arent genuine. I have some brilliant friends from the net, ones that i now see away from the net and i hope will be my friends for life, good luck on finding this too.
P.S. Meeting friends through the net can be addictive and isolate you from reality, still go out there and meet friends the natural way, you can never have enough after all

I dont think that is such a good idea. There are alot of werid pepole on the net, but it's your choice , good luck.Just go out and make some friends, that's so much better and safe.

depends what type of friends you are looking for and how much effort you want to put in to the friendship
just chatting on the net or meet up once you have been chatting for a time
interests help to what you are looking for

it depends, if youre to trusting, then i'd say no, but if you can trust , but keep a level head about what's told to you online, then yes, if you do decide to make friends on the net, be careful as you never no who the other person is in real life.

yes.. i have several very good friends i've met online and just because they live so far away from me and i dont get to see them we do talk on the phone and online constantly.. they are just as important to me as every day friends sometimes even more important. more understanding and compassionate.. :)
However do be very careful too. there is some not so nice people online that will take advantage of you every chance they can and possibly cause you harm.. :(

only if you NEVER EVER EVER plant to meet up with them, give them your home phone number or location. You might find a perv. standing on your doorstep.
