I'm not saying I believe this or not, nor do I really know what to think about it. I really was looking for some input though. Apparently, a friend of mine had a discussion in a psychology or philosophy class one day about Jesus. Apparently, either one of the students or the teacher brought up a possibility of Jesus being a schizophrenic and/or having multiple personality disorder.

Comments? Arguments? Do you agree or disagree. At the very least I'd say that is a very interesting theory.

A lot of what went on in those days, before psychology and doctors, might have appeared to be divine visions or messages from the gods. What they called monsters back then, we call criminals now. And what they called prophets, we might label today as madmen. Jesus, Joan of Arc, Ezekiel, even the book of Revelations might have been a hallucination or dream. Still, the writers described what they saw in terms that they understood. If those events had happened in modern times, the Bible and a lot of sacred texts would be explained away very quickly.

If you do not consider, it relatively is not that difficult. Seriously, we Christians are alas brainwashed from the get cross. You are born, father and mother take you to church, and earlier than you'll be able to speak, stroll, and understand you could have heard one hundred sermons approximately God and Jesus. Take a step again and seem at it from any one else's eyes. There is not any evidence of God, often the Bible tells reviews that under no circumstances occurred, frequently our fellow Christians are best Christians once they suppose it's relevant, and Christians have a nasty rep with stuffing it down folks's throats. You can not end up to folks that there's a God and Jesus greater than a person from scripture. The scripture used to be written by means of guy within the publication that you simply ought to notice is a bit of of a stretch. Your religion continues you believing and loving, however the folks you're regarding haven't any religion. And I can not blame them. People will ask God to supply them the numbers to win the lottery. Why? Do you could have a task? Did you cross to tuition? Whatever it's that you simply can not have the funds for why can not you have the funds for it? IS it when you consider that you made dangerous choices in lifestyles? Maybe it's pleasant in the event you can not have the funds for it to exhibit others that the direction you took used to be now not the correct direction. My private ideals are that God does now not intrude. I refuse to consider he might permit battle if he did. I additionally can not consider he might permit 1 / 4 of 1 folks to be killed by means of a tsunami if he believed in preventing such matters. It couldnt' were all the ones folks's time to head. Heaven and Hell, I feel folks have the incorrect thought. How can I experience any one's enterprise and not using a frame? I can not hug them, can not see them, pay attention them, and many others. So why do I wish to visit Heaven? I feel this is a state of brain that you're in whilst you die. The delight of figuring out that you simply lived a well lifestyles.

Consider the personality, the case study of a person J. who exhibits certain characteristics (this avoids the question of whether Jesus existed). The man believes himself to be connected to some great force and so on, you know the details. How extreme are his delusions? They must not be totally wacko or there wouldn't be so many people who share these delusions.

Whoever thinks Jesus did not exist, they might as well say I don't believe anyone in history existed. Jesus' life is well documented in many historical references and you can even visit the tomb where he was buried in israel. As far as Jesus having some disease, that is just another excuse from a man with a moral problem having trouble accepting the fact that there is a God to answer to and trying to discredit the sinless savior of the world. Sorry but this is very wrong thinking.

Anything is possible. Hey, maybe he was gay. The point is, almost nothing is known about him, and while it's easy to ask these "interesting" questions, there's no way to prove any such theory. Kind of like intellectual masturbation. A flurry of pleasurable activity that in the end produces nothing.

That's nice. He might not have existed to begin with, though, you know.

We don't have any evidence of Jesus' existence, frankly, and the myth of Jesus conforms to the hero myth, which C. G. Jung described as an "archetype."
