most likely it is your processor.

if not.. something may have happened to the motherboard.

try a local tech. or if you're a DIY person.. open the case and make sure everything is connected correctly.. and try again.

good luck.

System doesn't Enter or Exit Standby Mode

If the Computer Does Not Enter or Exit Standby Mode or if the System enters standby but comes out immediately, please refer the solution provided in this link:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/famiDocument?dlc=&lc=en&product=12455&cc=us&docname=bph07147

And if System enters standby/Hibernation but doesn't come out, try Power Drain Steps. Because, this could be due to any charge that is left in the notebook Capacitors. To check this, let us try performing Power drain process.

To perform a Power Drain Procedure:

1.Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2.Remove the Battery.
3.Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4.Install the battery.
5.Reconnect the AC adapter.
6.Turn on the Notebook power.

The above process will discharge the charge that is left in the Notebook Capacitors which could cause this issue.

Good Luck and Happy Processing..........

you have a power problem, if you know about computers but are not sure about this problem, call a tech out to your home, have them look at the computer and tell you what the problem is, then let them leave, then fix it yourself. Remember, As long as the computer still comes on it can be saved. Or just get the tech to do the entire job.

Good Luck!!
