I admit, some vegetarians are hypocrites. (But who among us doesn't sometimes say, "do as I say, not as I do?") My favourite was a college roommate who was only into the animal rights side of vegetarianism - yet would order pepperoni pizza with her friends and pick off the pepperoni and throw it out.
As for the leather, there are a few things, and I'll only speak from my own experience:
1) I have a leather jacket that was my father's, and is more than 40 years old. I admit that by wearing it, I do further the culture of leather wearing. (However, since I'm by no means hip, I don't think I'm turning the tide of fashion, regardless of what I wear.) When it comes to that specific jacket, I feel that the animal already suffered and died, and there's no point in getting rid of a perfectly useful item of clothing.
2) Similarly, I have some things like shoes and a watch that I owned before I was a vegetarian. Since part of my reason to be a vegetarian is to consume less of the world's resources, I see no point in replacing that which I already own.
3) There are some good imitation leathers out there. Especially if you're at the distance that you would be if you were witnessing a vegetarian protest.
Futhermore, I've been vegetarian for almost a decade, and I've NEVER seen a vegetarian protest in person. So I really couldn't even begin to describe the materials that the people are wearing. (Maybe that just makes me a "bad" vegetarian, because I don't attend protests?)
There are many reasons that people choose to be vegetarian, and many types of vegetarianism. It's not always about saving the cows.

Some, but not all vegetarians wear leather. Many of us don't. And are you sure it is real leather? Because there are lots of imitation goods on the market now that look pretty close to the real thing.
Also, there is the a matter of frequency. One might buy a leather purse, wallet. or belt and it will last for several years. Same with a pair of shoes. That is marginally different than eating a beef burger every day.
I'm sorry that you think of vegetarians as "them" versus "you". We're all the same, buddy. We just make different choices as to what we want to eat. Why does that bother you? It doesn't bother me that you choose to eat meat.

Vegetarians are about feeding their bodies, not clothing them. Leather is a byproduct of carnivores. I believe every item used to make up something should be used to its fullest. Animal rights protesters ar the ones who should be veagan and not wear leather. Others just prefer ot to eat meat. simple as that.

I think it is just a lack of knowledge if indeed that is true. I would hope that people concerned about the well-being of animals would know that their skin makes up a lot of products they might use. They really shouldn't even eat anything with gelatin in it, or those gel-cap pills, cause those are made from horse and cow hooves.

They don't wear leather honey...it's called pleather or man made leather, which is made from synthetic fibers. Looks real, but it's sort of like fake breasts....unless you go up and touch them, it's hard to tell the difference on some.
