Like: As a middle class, well educated white guy I have a lot of privilege on America. As a gay man I have some access to understand the oppression faced by women, people of color and others in our society.
Also men are just dead sexy and I like not having to pretend I don't notice them.
And meeting a masculine, openly gay man is good for changing people's perceptions.
Dislike: I dislike the animosity towards me from people who have never met me.
I hate the government and media's bias against my community. I hate not being allowed to donate blood, because of the bigotry of the Red Cross and others.
I don't like that when I find the man I want to spend the rest of my life with the state will not recognize our marriage, even though my church will.
Awesome question!

I like that I can have great friendships with women and they don't feel threatened that I'm after them for sex.
I suppose I should dislike being gay because of some people's negative views towards homosexuality, but then again, me being gay isn't the problem. The problem is with the narrow minded fawkheads out there.
So, I guess there isn't anything for me to dislike about being gay.

I like the view from where I stand...I can appreciate all things masculine and feminine. I can relate to men and women. And I like the fact that being gay gives me an excuse for not producing children.
I don't like the friction being gay causes between my parents and myself. On a more personal level, I don't like the heartbreak I've experienced and the frustration I sometimes feel for being a single gay man.

Lots to like:
1)I will NEVER have to worry about accidentally getting someone pregnant.
2) (corollary to 1)I'll never be contributing to the planet's overpopulation.
3)The freedom that comes from being FORCED to challenge society's perceptions about one part of my life: I can now challenge society's perceptions about everything else too, and truly be myself.
4)Not having to learn a completely different anatomy to be a good lover.
5)As said above, I do have access to SOME level of understanding of the systems of oppression. I can't say "Oh, I completely get it now" because no white male can ever completely get it, but I do get it a lot more than most other white males ever can.
6)The gay beat. (simple pleasures, right?). aka QAF's "thumpa-thumpa"
What I don't like:
Drawing from a MUCH smaller dating pool than most of my friends. Pretty much any other problem I have isn't from being gay, it's from being gay in America. (It's their problem, not mine)

I like being able to appreciate the sensuality of women (my girlfriend in particular)
I like not having to give 2 s.hits when my monthly friend is late.
I like not being nastily sweated on during sexual acts.
I dislike being hassled by people who dont think my life style is "right", yet they continue to have there noses all up in my business.
I dislike when men swear up & down that they can "turn me back in". What the hell??? Um...no.

i am comfortable in my own skin, the likes, all the beautiful women i meet. be friends with, and get to know.
women know what women want!
and the guys that know im gay, they are cool and quit trying after i tell em. i have friends of both sexes.
men ask me for advice for there girlfriends or wives, with pleasure i give em advice.
with the ladies i try to treat them all like princesses.
with the lgbt community, we are all individuals and learn about each other is really cool.
whats not to like when you find "the one" for you.
and for the ones that condemn me for being gay, i just overlook them and dont let there narrowmindedness burden me.

I like that fact that I can love who I love. That despite the social stigma and prejudices, I am that I am. I like that fact that I am not defined by sexuality but by attributes, character and accomplishments.
I do not like the sterotypes, the derogatory names, the weakness and discrimination. I don't like that so many people are afraid of what they are not, afraid of what they are. And because of this fear, they do not demand equality.
