Generally Midwives are RN's with a specialization in childbirth class. You wouldn't have to finish 11&12 but you would need a GED to get into the program. Contact a community college near you and talk to them about the LPN course.. They will help you out a ton with it, help you find a place to finish up your RN and even if they don't offer the special mid-wife course they can help you find a place that does. Just be up front about that being what you want to do. Getting your LPN license will be the hardest part, and that can take from 1-2 years at a technical school. The RN isn't easy.. but you will already have one certificate and be more familiar with what your getting into.

Good luck in your life and Congrats on the baby and wanting to do something with your life!

You should talk to your HS guidance counselor. But I do believe that midwives have to be registered nurses before they can become a CNM (Certified Nurse-Midwife). Contact your local college that has a nursing program and make an appointment with a guidance counselor there as well.

You typically need to be a Registered Nurse or FNP and then you need to get specialized schooling after that.
