well it depends...if you just write the name and use colors, then no, as I doubt anyone could put a trademark on blue or the word "Redskins" or "Bengals", and you could always claim its for another team, a little league team or something. If you try to copy one of the actual team logos, specifically identify the team (like saying the Philadelphia Eagles instead of just "Eagles"), or the style of the font the team uses (like the blocky, close-spaced letters the Giants use), thats an image that can be copyrighted.

If you plan to mass produce an item with a trademark for profit it would be in your best interests to contact them.

Legally no, but if you are keeping it small scale you would most likely get away with it. Just dont do too good a job with you item.
